My recent safari (2025) adventure planned by Karen was truly the trip of a lifetime.From start to finish, every detail was thoughtfully planned, yet flexible enough to adjust seamlessly when weather had other plans or opportunities to optimize our itinerary presented themselves. In Cape Town, we were deeply moved exploring the powerful history of apartheid, including a visit to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. Standing on Table Mountain and taking in the sweeping views of the city and coastline was absolutely breathtaking.

From there, the adventure only grew more extraordinary. Experiencing the majestic Victoria Falls was unforgettable—the sheer power and beauty of the falls left me speechless. Sunset cruises along the Zambezi River (Zimbabwe) and the Chobe River (Botswana) were magical, with elephants gathering along the banks and hippos surfacing as the sky turned gold.

My time in Botswana featured incredible game drives where I was fortunate to personally see each of the “big five” and an abundance of other large, small and members of the “ugly five” wildlife up close—truly awe-inspiring moments that photos can’t quite capture.

All our accommodations over the eighteen days blended comfort with an authentic African and safari atmospheres.
And the food — plentiful and choices for every dietary preference or need. From amazing multi-course meals to thoughtful wine pairings, champagne toasts, and curated tastings showcasing South Africa’s exceptional wines, every culinary experience felt special and celebratory.

What stood out most was how well organized the entire trip was. Transfers, excursions, accommodations—everything flowed smoothly.

We travelled with Allwings to Africa in the fall of 2025. South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana, what an experience!!! It was a busy itinerary and that was what we both wanted and expected when travelling that far abroad. Between learning the culture, history, landscapes and the up close and intimate animal experiences this checked off all of the boxes that we wanted.
