Big Ears, Big Horns, Big Waterfall Safari

This tour is all about the wildlife. I’ve immersed this safari in opportunities to experience Africa’s wildlife in their own magnificent habitat — on the water, in open safari vehicles and, when the opportunity presents itself, up close and personal. I’ve added encounters with rhinos and elephants, infused it with local culture, sprinkled in some music and wrapped it all up with the glorious spectacle of Victoria Falls.

We’ll begin in Botswana, home to one of the highest concentrations of elephants in the world, before making our way through Zambia and Zimbabwe. Along the way, you’ll have the rare opportunity to experience Victoria Falls from both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides, before heading even deeper into the wild. And then comes the part I love most — waking up, falling asleep and spending your days surrounded by Africa at her most untamed.

Because when you’re out there, with nothing but the sounds of the bush around you, something magical happens. You’re no longer simply looking at Africa. You become part of her.

Big Game, Gorillas & Waterglory

This is not your typical safari. It’s a journey in search of the “Big 6.”

You’ll come for the gorillas — and discover that Uganda gives you so much more. Uganda is where our adventure begins — and there is far more here than gorillas. Over 11 days, we’ll encounter reintroduced white rhinos, explore the Nile and Murchison Falls, search for the rare Shoebill, meet chimpanzees in Kibale Forest, safari through Queen Elizabeth National Park and keep watch for Ishasha’s famous tree-climbing lions.
And then we reach Bwindi. Here, you’ll come face to face with mountain gorillas in one of the most extraordinary wildlife encounters on the planet. It’s raw, it’s humbling, and it stays with you long after you’ve left the forest.

And then it’s on to Zimbabwe — Victoria Falls, where thunder, mist and “Mosi-oa-Tunya” (“The Smoke That Thunders”) make the sheer scale of the Falls impossible to prepare for. An unforgettable bushwalk brings you remarkably close to elephants you’ll not only meet, but quite literally touch.

From there, we head into the wild heart of Zimbabwe: Hwange National Park. This is true “cat country,” where the Big 5 roam across a landscape that feels vast, raw and gloriously untouched. This is the Africa you’ve imagined…only better, because you’re in it.
